Veneers

What is a veneer?

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain that is permanently cemented to the outer surface of your tooth, and it’s the quickest and easiest way to give you a perfect smile.

In as little as two visits veneers can be used to:

How are veneers made?

The process is usually completed in 2-3 appointments.

  • We prepare a prototype in your mouth to show your new smile. This is probably the most important step as you get to see the shape, color and size of your teeth. At this point you can either have the permanent veneers made or wear the prototype veneers home to show your family and friends, and see what they think. We can change the color, shape and size until we get the smile you want.

  • When you are completely happy with the smile design, we prepare your teeth for the permanent handmade veneers. This process usually involves removing old fillings and teeth are prepared so that the porcelain veneers will adhere perfectly. Once this is done, temporary veneers will be placed on your teeth for approximately two weeks while the veneers are being made.

  • After removing the temporary veneers, we use the most advanced bonding agents to permanently bond the veneers to your teeth.

Porcelain veneers are stain-resistant and do not discolour at all. Using the latest techniques enables minimal disturbance to natural tooth and we expect our veneers to last up to 20 years, which is twice as long as the average life for veneers!

It’s worth noting that while veneers are the quickest and easiest way to improve your smile, there are many other options that may serve you better in the long term.
